Service Description

Traditional Usui Reiki is a Japanese wellness modality. It is a form of energy work that promotes rest and relaxation to allow the body to heal on its own. Rei means "universal" or "higher power" and Ki means "breath" or "life force." Putting those together, you can think of Reiki as spiritually guided life energy. Reiki is a powerful yet gentle approach to bring balance and harmony to mind, body, and spirit. During the session, the client remains fully clothed lying on a treatment table. Your practitioner will place their hands or hover (your preference) over different chakras, also known as energy centers, in the body. This practice allows the practitioner to be a conduit of universal life force energy. This energy flows through them and brings balance and restoration to your chakras. This in turn addresses any imbalances and supports the body's ability to heal. During this specific Reiki session, you will also experience the power of sound healing through the use of vibration from instruments, such as crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, rainsticks, etc. These vibrations and sounds too can promote a state of rest and digest which provides a signal to the body that it is safe. When the body is able to feel safe and at peace, these combined practices can help support the body's innate healing abilities. Each session will typically include reiki and sound work for an equivalent amount of time. For example, if your session is an hour, this will include 30 minutes of Reiki and 30 minutes of sound work. However, we can modify the session for your preference. Just let your practitioner know at the time of your appointment.
